Frequently asked

Is the DFM critique a certification I can hand to a manufacturer?+

No. ForgeLab's output is advisory — it cites a rule and a measured value, but it isn't a manufacturing or engineering certification. You (or your engineer) remain responsible for sign-off before production.

Can ForgeLab release a design to a manufacturer on its own?+

Never. Marking a design production-ready, releasing an order package, or sharing it outside your organization all require an explicit action from you. ForgeLab prepares the revision pack and the RFQ — it doesn't send either.

Are my designs and uploaded files private?+

Yes. Every design, run, document, and uploaded STL/sketch is private to your account by default — nothing is shown publicly unless you explicitly choose to share it.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?+

Deleting your account from Account settings permanently removes your designs, runs, and documents. This can't be undone — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Which manufacturing processes does ForgeLab support today?+

FDM, SLA, 3-axis CNC, injection moulding and sheet metal. The DFM rulebook, material shortlist and cost model cover each of these.

How is a run priced, and can it run up a bill unexpectedly?+

Every run has a hard cost cap, and a live token meter shows exactly what each agent step spent. Pilot accounts also have a daily run quota shown on the workspace before you hit it.
